Dusko-Zeja Jovanović's exibition held 09.05.2002. in Veliko Gradište

09.05.2002. in Veliko Gradište, at library Vuk Karadžić's gallery, opening of Duško-Zeja Jovanović's exibition was held. This exibition is part of Zeja's "Kosovo Cycle" , which is made of 182 paintings, from which 24 reprographicks are exibited in library "Vuk Karadžić". About this exibition the author sais: ""Kosovo Cycle" has been made to simbolyze every holy place at Kosovo.
Which means: each place has one paiting(a new icon) which carries the name of one woman and which is at the same time "Kosovo Girl".
24 reprographics which remain as gift to library, symbolize 24.03.1999., a tragic event, the bombing of Yugoslavia.
The whole cycle, is not for sale, but will rather be saved for some other time, when adaptation for it found, where it will be held as permanent exibition.
I hope that Gradište will one daz find a location for it and then I will give the whole cycle to the city.
This collection of 24 reprographics carries the name "SEVERINKA", by my mother, as my kao thanks and memories of her."

The exibition was opened by Mića Perić with following words:

"Ladies and gentleman!

Fans and admirers of this institution, of this temple where love for paintings and books is nursed. Tonight we are here to be together and discover wide and noble soul of one of us. I say one of us, because there are about dozen of us in Gradište. All of us had a chance for regular presentations of our works. Duško Jovanović, Zeja has not been among us for a long time, we almost started to forget about him. We might have thought that he forgot us, but this exibition throws away all thougts like that. All this ten years - hardest years of existence, Duško vas with us and he comfirms that with this exibition.
What zou can see tonight in this small and humble gallery of Gradište, really has one high artistic and estetic level. I think that much larger and more beautiful galleries both and country and abroad would envy us. Tonight, our gallery is the biggest and the most beautiful. I rightfully say biggest and most beautiful, because it is filled with you ortodox Serbs, the ones the Zeja cares for most. With lot of safety I say that tonight in it these pictures got another dimension. Tonight they got purpose of existence. Duško has created them for this moment, exactly for this almighty evening. Although made in far and cold expanses of Germany, they shine with warmth of hot south. They shine with light of homeland, they have the symbols of long forgoten ancients, they smell of incense, and their song is aboriginal.
Diving in subconciouse, rummaging at presend and having a vision of future, Duško with equal dose of inspiration records shapes taken from nature and thing most brightest and most uncatchable in human life - he records love. Actualy there are many loves Duško records. Probably they carry their roots in Duško's conciousness from time when we were pagans. I would like to ephasize some of them: Love toward homeland, love towards monastery, love towards own mother, love towards woman. All those loves are long as rivers and wriggly, misterious, deep and clean, but they are diferent from rivers in that sense that they don't have a sea which would unite them all. They are united in Zeja's subtle sould and they can be seen on his paintings.
United like this they are called Verica, Ona, Draženka, Helena, Marina, Olivera, Hajdi, Sanja, Sabina, Sofija, Kristina, Lili, Mila, Aleksandra and most important among them is the love called mother - Severinka.
Allow me to finally with words "Duško welcome - welcome home" be the first to congratulate Zeja and declare this exibition opened".

Thank you!"
